| The Redline Guys are a
group of friends that I have made over the years in my
Hot Wheels collecting "travels". These
were guys that I knew well and trusted to be fair dealing
people. I thought it would be really cool to have
everyone meet each other and have a sort of Hot Wheels
"show-off" show and turn this fun hobby of Hot
Wheels collecting from a "lone ranger" hobby
into a really fun "hangin' out" event that
would result in better overall friendships, great trades
and a sense of "looking out" for each other.
Rather than being like a typical "Hot Wheels
Show" this is more like a "Cruise" where
everyone gets to bring their cars to show-off. The
emphasis is on appreciating the killer Redlines we've
been able to acquire rather than on sales. This group of
guys really gelled at the Anaheim Hot Wheels Convention -
October of '98. (Looking forward to Irvine, CA. in
October!) We all went in on a room and everyone was
super-cool to each other and everyone pitched in their
talents and abilities to make it a far better experience
than we ever could have had alone! Our group of serious
collectors has grown each time we have an event (called a
"cruise") Hopefully this will encourage others
out there to start their own "events" and
really enjoy a whole new level of collecting fun!!
