Hot Wheels Convention 2000




	There have been some amazing cars showing up here at the Convention! Here's just a taste of a few. I will try to remember to bring my camera and take more pictures. It really is a rush and we're now on "Hot Wheels Time" which means hours go by like MINUTES! It's hard to be focused on anything other than finding those "killer deals". The Shelby Turbine (left) is from Dino and Cher's collection. It is a brilliant Orange Spectraflame with original fuel tanks! (prototype) Dino had some of his own collection here and it seems every collector had to get at least one car from him. Awesome cars, Dino! The group of Olds 442s are Rex's cars. I've had the chance to meet so many "e-mail friends" and that's been a major part of this Convention for me. It's always cool to place a name with a face and then go out to lunch or talk Hot Wheels, go do some hunting, etc.! What a great hobby we have, that we can get along and all have such a good attitude. I'll be taking more photos as the days progress (and as some of the official activities begin) Check out this deal being done in a bathroom! Like most Hotels, the lighting is pretty muted, so the best light to examine Redlines under is the Bathroom light! It's pretty common to hear the question "Can I take this to the bathroom?" When examining a Redline! One of the quirks of Room-to-Room trading! !

I was walking back to my room and was confronted by a "heavy deal" in progress. Walter Davenport asked me some advice on buying this Pink Boss Hoss in a cut blister (photo doesn't show color well) This is the sweetest Redline I've seen! I looked carefully at the package, the car and the paint. (as well as what I could see of the base) It is a Pink-Over-Chrome Boss Hoss! What a beautiful car! I'll let Walter reveal what he paid for it (if he wants to) but this is the type of deal going on in the halls and rooms of this Hotel! Sweet car!

Today we were treated to a display of some incredible Redlines! This display consisted of Rare Redlines from Sid Belzburg, Beach Bomb Jim, Bruce Pascal and Dave Lopez. Unbelievable stuff!
